1.  Why did Moab burn the bones of the king of Edom to lime?  (Read 2 Kings 3:26-27)

2.  Give some examples of how Judah had committed the sins listed in verse 4.

3.  How would the people of Israel likely have felt at this point in Amos’ telling of God’s judgments?

4.  At first glance the sins of Israel do not look as bad as those of the other nations (murder, ripping open pregnant women, selling nations into slavery).  Why are Israel’s sins actually much worse than the others?

5.  What is a common theme to the majority of Israel’s sins?

6.  What does God say to contrast against the Israelites’ sins in verses 9-11?

7.  Why had God given the Israelites the prophets and Nazirites?

8.  What did the Israelites do to the prophets and Nazirites?  Why do you think they did these things?

9.   Verse 13 is translated 1 of 2 different ways in various translations.  Compare both interpretations.  What different ideas can be taken from the 2 interpretations?

10.  What specific people are listed that will not be able to escape God’s wrath and judgment?
